Queerview television guide for August 5

This week features all the acts picked as the best of the auditions and should feature queer contestants including country dance troupe The DC Cowboys, America's favorite dragapella quartet The Kinsey Sicks, Britney Spears impersonator Derrick Barry and Tina Turner impersonator Dorae Saunders. From those acts the top forty will go on to the semi-finals, where the public will get to vote on who moves on to compete for the grand prize.

Food Detectives (Food Network) 9:00 PM EDT

Do people who double-dip deserve to be shunned from your party? Can ginger really help with motion sickness? More importantly, will Ted Allen stop yelling at the audience? I adore Ted but that first episode could have used a little less energy ... I'm hoping that'll get fixed as the season continues because Ted geeking out about food science should be so much cooler than that premiere.

Flipping Out (Bravo) 10:00 PM EDT

With Commonwealth sold, Jeff has to find a place to live, all while trying to finish the Encino job. With all that going on, I guess it's not surprising to see Jenni get all snappish with Jeff in the promos for tonight's season finale.

Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood (Oxygen) 10:00 PM EDT

Tori gives birth in the season finale, which hopefully will bring everyone together including BFF/business partner Mehran as well as Liam's party planners, Bill and Scout.

Adam Grimes as Night Shift doc Kyle Julian

General Hospital: Night Shift (SOAPNet) 11:00 PM EDT

While the current state of General Hospital still invokes old bitter soap geek wounds (hey, I'm a former Santa Barbara and Another World viewer), this prime-time spin-off series is turning out to be a pretty solid soap with plenty of gratuitous beefcake. I know I should be wanting more, but for the moment I'm really enjoying the camaraderie between gay doc Kyle (Grimes) and his new roommate Claire (Carrie Southworth) ... which means I'm also enjoying the Kyle and Claire webisodes on the Night Shift website.

Million Dollar Listing (Bravo) 11:00 PM EDT

Just as one World of Wonder docu-soap ends (Tori and Dean), another begins. Following a handful of realtors who work in high-end properties (including bisexual Playgirl coverguy Madison Hildebrand) Million Dollar Listing will look into what kind of competitive skills it takes to make the big sale.
