Godzilla Minus One Movie: Terrifying Terror in Japan's Troubled Times

Japanese film production companies Toho Studios and Robot Communications have just released a movie about their country's famous monster, Godzilla, titled Godzilla Minus One on November 3, 2023 in Japan and December 1 in the United States.

Godzilla Minus One Movie: Terrifying Terror in Japan's Troubled Times

This movie is predicted to be one of the best movies of 2023 due to its amazing storyline and visual effects. Oh yes, you need to know that this Godzilla movie is different in storyline from Godzilla in the Monsterverse made by Legendary and Warner Bros.

Storyline

Director Takashi Yamazaki set this movie in a time when Japan was trying to recover from the effects of the atomic bomb in 1945, in the midst of the chaos of the struggling people of the cherry blossom country, the appearance of Godzilla posed a new and more frightening threat.

The devastated condition of Japan, the sadness that occurs everywhere, coupled with Godzilla's brutal attack, makes this movie feel more gripping than other Godzilla films.

While some scenes show the Japanese army's attempts to annihilate Godzilla with gunfire and bombs, here Godzilla's visuals are taller, bigger and more detailed.

Causes of Godzilla's Attack

The atomic bomb tests carried out on the islands around Bikini Atoll destroyed the ecosystem there, this is what made Godzilla furious and finally attacked humans.

Differences with the Monsterverse version of Godzilla

If the Monsterverse version of Godzilla is depicted as a hero who protects the earth from evil monster attacks, in this Toho version Godzilla is made more sadistic and cruel to humans.

It can also be seen from several scenes that show Godzilla's sadism towards humans, such as throwing trains, stepping on crowds of people, and annihilating the masses with a flick of his tail.

Why 'Minus One'?

So, what caused this movie to be titled Godzilla Minus One? Launching from the Average Being page, Japan's defeat at that time, made Japan at point 0, then Godzilla's terror that helped destroy Japan, made things worse and made it go down to minus one or minus one.

That was the review of the movie Godzilla Minus One, for those of you fans of the Godzilla franchise, it looks like you have to watch this one movie. Unfortunately, this movie has only aired in Japan and in the United States.
